I took a picture of you
Just of your feet
Wearing a pair of rubber shoes
I wonder and marvel
Of how far you've traveled
And yet the white canvass
Is without a speck of dust
Nor an ugly smudge
From paths laden with mud
Or from grease covering
The busy streets you've passed
I took a picture of you
And wonder if wishes do come true
If we could explore
Some wonders together
Or perhaps share
A cup of coffee or two
I wonder why I took
Just a picture of your feet
When there were over a thousand and hundred
Little replicas of you
Crazy as it sounds my reasoning be
But perhaps as I walk along this life's journey
And carefully look down
To choose every step
I might come across
Those rubber-shoed feet
And raise my eyes
To find that we've meet
